THE PROBLEM

Let's face it; we live in a world of fast food, demanding jobs and decreased physical activity. Because of that, the end result for many people is an increase in weight, an increase in fat and a decrease in vitality, strength and health.

Simple logic would suggest that dieting will reduce fat, but often the opposite can be true.

Fact: Only 22% of adults get the recommended amount of physical activity!

Fact: Nearly 60% of Americans are overweight!

Fact: 1 in every 5 people in the U.S. is obese!

Fact: Diet fads and “Quick Fixes” flood the shelves today!

Traditional diets:

  • Can generate weight loss from lean muscle tissue as well as fat. Loss of lean muscle tissue slows down your metabolism.
  • These may actually increase the number of fat-storing enzymes, hindering the body’s ability to burn calories and boost fat production, even when the diet is over.

Why do poeple get and stay fat?

Simply stated, weight gain (or more appropriately fat gain) is a function of consuming more calories than you burn:

  • We gain fat when calories that are not used are stored by the body as fat cells. What you don't burn, you save.
  • This is compounded by the aging process...as you age, your metabolism slows down, becoming less efficient.
  • Lean body weight, which keeps your metabolism active, decreases further, hampering the weight loss process. When weight loss occurs, a person’s resting metabolic rate decreases, lowering your body’s ability to burn calories.
